Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of Adaptive Tutor, including the web app, downloadable apps, LexiSphere, traditional adaptive learning, and optional agent-based learning features.
1. Who May Use the Service
You may use Adaptive Tutor only if you have authority to create and use the account. If you create, invite, supervise, or authorize an account for a child or student, you represent that you are the parent, guardian, educator, school representative, or other authorized person permitted to do so.
2. Children, Students, and Consent
A child or student should use the service only with appropriate parent, guardian, teacher, or school authorization. Parents and guardians consent to the learner's use of Adaptive Tutor and to the collection and use of account, learning, progress, and tutoring information as described in the Privacy Policy.
Teachers, schools, districts, tutors, and educational representatives confirm that they have authority under their policies and applicable law to create or manage student access, invite students, view student progress, assign curriculum, and enable AI-assisted learning features they choose to use.
3. Educational Service
Adaptive Tutor provides tutoring, practice, curriculum assignment, progress tracking, vocabulary practice, classroom workflows, and related learning tools. The service is not a substitute for professional legal, medical, mental health, emergency, or safety advice.
4. Accounts and Security
You are responsible for keeping login credentials secure, providing accurate registration information, updating account information when it changes, and using appropriate supervision for child or student accounts.
5. AI Safety
Adaptive Tutor may use automated systems and AI-generated responses. AI output can be incomplete, incorrect, biased, inappropriate, or unsuitable for a particular learner. Teachers, parents, guardians, and adult users should review important educational, factual, grading, placement, or decision-making outputs before relying on them.
You agree not to intentionally prompt the service to produce harmful, abusive, sexual, self-harm, violent, deceptive, unlawful, or otherwise inappropriate content. If you see concerning AI output, inaccurate tutoring guidance, unsafe advice, or content that is inappropriate for a learner, please report it through the product or support channel. We may review reported prompts, responses, account context, and related logs to investigate safety, quality, abuse, and support issues.
Agent-based learning features are optional. If you bring your own AI provider key, you are responsible for that provider account, model selection, provider terms, and usage costs. Adaptive Tutor will use the personal provider settings you configure for those calls and will not intentionally fall back to hosted default keys when your personal key path is selected but unavailable.
6. Acceptable Use
- Do not use the service for unlawful, abusive, harmful, deceptive, or fraudulent purposes.
- Do not interfere with the operation, security, or availability of the service.
- Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
- Do not expose another learner's private information without authorization.
- Do not build a competing product through scraping, bulk extraction, automated misuse, or unauthorized copying.
7. Payment and Subscription
Certain features require a paid subscription, trial, redeemed access entitlement, or personal AI provider key. Pricing, billing intervals, trial terms, and plan details are presented at checkout or inside the product.
8. Privacy
Use of the service is also governed by the Privacy Policy. Adaptive Tutor does not sell personal data and does not use student data for third-party advertising.
9. Intellectual Property
Adaptive Tutor and its software, content, branding, and service features are owned by Adaptive Tutor or its licensors. Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the service for its intended educational purpose.
10. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if necessary to protect the service, comply with law, address nonpayment, investigate abuse, protect learner privacy or safety, or enforce these terms.
11. Disclaimers and Limits
The service is provided on an as-available basis. To the extent permitted by law, Adaptive Tutor disclaims warranties not expressly stated here and will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.
12. Changes and Contact
We may update these Terms from time to time. For questions, use the support channel provided in Adaptive Tutor.
